One Ring to rule them all,
One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them
I manage to hold it together for about my first ten seconds at Jens Hansen. Then my excitement bubbles over and I start telling the shop assistant how thrilled I am to be here and how I’m making a tour of Middle Earth (and yeah…you’ve heard this all before so feel free to fill in the gaps…)
How lovely that she is as excited as me! Her name is Tanya and she’s only been working here six months and she’s really enthused about the whole thing. She starts getting the rings out of their cases and even lets me try them on. I like the silver ring best (it’s Tanya’s favourite too) and it fits PERFECTLY!
I’m so tempted to buy it but exquisite jewellery just isn’t essential for my travelling lifestyle at the moment (and do I need to be any more of a walking cliché anyway?) so I take it off and give it back just before I fall completely in love with it. Tanya writes down the size and price for me just in case I change my mind later… Yes, I think we all know I’m doomed!
It can still be yours!!
Thanks for visiting us here in the studio, its always a pleasure!
The super-lovely Tanya showing me the goodies.
Did I mention how excited I am to be here?!
Our big ‘stunt’ ring is in Japan for the opening of The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug. Tourism New Zealand, and Warner Bros Japan are hosting Ring-san and have made him feel very welcome as he travelled from Nelson, around New Zealand and on to Japan. The following are translations of the original @PureNZinJapan twitter feed posts of the journey.
As seen on the Red Carpet
We were delighted that our friend and client Diane Campbell-Smith was on the Red Carpet at the Oscars 2014 accompanying her partner Chris Ward on the occasion of his nomination for Sound Editing Oscar for The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug.
Classic Jens Hansen
Diane took a selection of classic pieces with her to LA, both from our Permanent Collection of original Jens Hansen pieces from the 1970’s and from our Legacy Collection of newly crafted re-released pieces.
